ASHLAND, Va. -- Sophomore Hunter Glavé became the first Randolph softball player to hit three home runs in one day today.

The first baseman supplied all six Randolph RBIs in a two-game split with conference finalist Randolph-Macon today.

Randolph won game one, 4-3, but fell in game two, 12-3.

In game one, Glavé homered in the top of the first to put Randolph up.

First-year Brittany Campbell doubled that lead in the second, coming around on an error.

Randolph-Macon halved that advantage in the bottom of the frame, but Glavé once again came up big in the third, driving in herself and junior Jessica Nowak.

Her two home runs marks the seventh time in program history in which one player has hit two homers in the same game.

It is the first time since 2011 that Randolph has had a player achieve such a feat.

The 4-1 lead survived a Yellow Jacket rally, as the hosts got two back in the bottom of the fifth.

That was enough for junior Hannah Winfree, who finished another complete game in the circle.

In the seventh, she was faced with a nerve-racking situation with the bases loaded and two outs, but Katie Woody lined out to first-year shortstop Haley Brickles to end the threat.

In game two, Glavé capped her record day early, hitting a three-run shot in the first inning, driving in Brickles and junior Erin Wehrhan.

Randolph-Macon's bats woke up, however, scoring a dozen runs in the victory.

The WildCats are next in action Wednesday at Roanoke.
