Softball Concludes Season Against Randolph-Macon

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph softball team wrapped up its 2026 season on Saturday afternoon as the WildCats hosted Randolph-Macon in an ODAC doubleheader. The Yellow Jackets won both games by the scores of 10-2 and 3-0.

In the first game, the Jackets scored four times in the first inning and added another run in the second inning to lead 5-0. RMC scored once in the fifth and twice in the sixth inning to go ahead 8-0. In the Randolph half of the inning, Rachel Arce (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) singled with one out. Rylee Humble (Haw River, N.C.) then doubled to left field to advance pinch runner Brianne Slape (Dillwyn, Va./Buckingham County) to third base. After Zoe Watson (Mooresville, N.C./Lake Norman) struck out, Michaela Williams (Appomattox, Va./Appomattox) doubled down the left field line to score Slape and Humble to make it a 6-2 ballgame.

RMC scored twice more in the seventh inning to complete the scoring.

Austyn Moran (Troutville, Va./James River HS) pitched seven innings in the circle. She allowed 10 runs on 14 hit  and walked three.

Humble was 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a run scored. Williams was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

In the second game, it was a scoreless contest through three innings. The Yellow Jackets scored on an error with two outs in the top of the fourth inning to lead 1-0.

Randolph-Macon pushed two runs home in the top of the seventh. The WildCats were down to their last out in the bottom of the inning with two runners on but the game was halted due to rain and after a brief delay, was called.

Humble allowed just one earned run on 10 hits in seven innings. She struck out one batter and walked two. Arce went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Prior the start of the game, the team recognized its seniors Williams, Moran, Chesney Shook (Advance, N.C./Davie County), and Amanda Lawhorn (Rustburg, Va./Rustburg HS) along with Graduate Assistant Coach Mallory McKnight and former WildCat Paige Scruggs.
