LYNCHBURG, VA – The Randolph College women's basketball team put four players in double figures and shot 45 percent in the second half in coming from behind to earn an important Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over Washington and Lee University on Play 4 Kay Night from the Randolph Athletics and Dance (RAD) Center Wednesday.

The WildCats (5-19/3-12 ODAC) eclipsed their win total from the 2011-12 season with the victory, and now have two more league wins than last season. Randolph led by as much as eight points at 23-15 in the first half after a free throw from Jensen Hoover (Woodstock, VA/Central). Washington and Lee rallied to pull to within one at the half as Megan Marks nailed a three right before buzzer to make the score 28-27 at intermission.

After the break, W&L (8-15/5-10 ODAC) tied the game at 30, and then went on a 7-2 run to take a five-point advantage at 13:47 following a free-throw from Annie Gauf. The Generals took their largest lead of the game at six at 7:48 left after Gauf nailed a three to make the score 48-42. Randolph came right back with the game's next five points to trim the W&L lead to just one with 6:27 left after a triple from Emilee Dunton (Forest, VA/Brookville).

After Randolph held on defense, the WildCats took a lead after a free throw by Dunton to make the score 59-58.

W&L had two chances on its next possession, but couldn't convert and Dunton grabbed the second board and was fouled. She made her first attempt and grabbed her own miss on the second to give the 'Cats the ball with eight seconds left. On the next sequence, the WildCats turned the ball over, giving the Generals 3.8 seconds to work with. After a timeout, Katy Wilson drove to the bucket but her shot was short at the buzzer, giving the WildCats the win on their final home game of the year.

The visitors shot just 29.5 percent on the evening, but made up for it from the line, making a blistering 17-of-19 (89.5 percent) from the charity stripe. The win for the WildCats over Washington and Lee was their first since the 2008, and also the first win in the RAD Center since 2006.
