Women's Basketball Falls to Washington & Lee on the Road

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Randolph College women's basketball team fell to undefeated Washington and Lee University, 88-46, on Wednesday evening.

Randolph kept pace early in the opening quarter, trailing just 19-11 after the first 10 minutes. Washington and Lee used a strong second quarter to create separation, outscoring Randolph 28-9 before halftime to take a 47-20 lead. The Generals shot over 55 percent from the field in the period while capitalizing on second-chance opportunities.

Randolph showed renewed energy in the fourth quarter, posting its highest scoring period with 17 points. The WildCats shot 46.7 percent from the field in the final frame and received balanced scoring from multiple players.

Minor finished with a team-high 13 points and eight rebounds to lead Randolph. Makiah Scott and Amaya Thrash each added eight points off the bench, while Maddie Pabon contributed six points on two made three-pointers. Brooklyn Finnerty chipped in four points, and Taniya Jackson added three points and an assist.

The WildCats will return to action later this week on Saturday when they host Bridgewater for their Play 4 Kay game. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
