Box Score

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Randolph College women's basketball team will play host to their annual Play 4 Kay contest this Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. as Washington and Lee University comes to town for the final home game of the 2012-13 season in the Randolph Athletics and Dance (RAD) Center.

Last season, the WildCats captured a big Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win on their Play 4 Kay contest against Emory & Henry College. This year, donations will be accepted at the door with all proceeds going to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

As has become accustomed, all in attendance are asked to wear pink to support breast cancer awareness, prevention and treatment. Both teams will wear pink warm-ups, pink shoelaces, pink socks, and referees will officiate with pink whistles.

The 2013 Play 4Kay initiative (formerly known as WBCA Pink Zone) is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has raised over $2 million to support women's cancer research. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is the official charity of the initiative.

"I'm really excited for our team to have the chance to participate in a Play 4 Kay game," said Randolph head coach Allison Nichols. "The Kay Yow Cancer Fund has raised millions of dollars for women's cancer research and it's a great opportunity to give back and help raise awareness."
