Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. -- Randolph and Washington & Lee played an even affair tonight in Lexington, with the Generals coming away with an 83-72 win.
Both teams were an even 50% from three tonight, each going 7-for-14, and both teams only committed nine turnovers in tonight's offensive affair.
Over the first 8:28, Randolph raced out to an early 25-12 lead.
An 8-0 run including a pair of threes from junior Jason Eddie put Randolph on top and first-year Ryan Fields capped the early spurt with consecutive field goals later.
W&L rallied for the remainder of the first half, however, taking the lead before intermission.
Over the first 5:27 of the second half, Randolph pulled within a single possession five times, but couldn't regain the lead.
The Generals were 6-of-6 from the line over the last 46 seconds to ice the game.
W&L was 18-for-18 from the line, one shy of the program record for most made free throws without a miss in program history.
Randolph was led by 21 points and five rebounds by junior Zach Desgain.
Eddie hit three of his five threes for 14 points.
The ODAC's leading field goal and three-point shooters will remain atop the league standings, as junior Gordon Rogo scored 10 points to remain as the only ODAC player above 60% from the floor and junior Seth Wimbish made two of his four threes to stay atop the ODAC's three point shooting list.
As of the last NCAA report, Wimbish leads the nation in three point shooting across all three divisions. He now has made at least half of his threes in nine straight games with at least three attempts.
Clayton Murtha was the star for the Generals, posting game highs in points (29) and rebounds (10).
His 10 boards made up the only significant difference between the two teams in the box score, as the Generals pulled down 33 rebounds compared to Randolph's 23.
Randolph will look to get back in the win column Saturday at Roanoke at 3:30 p.m.
The first time these teams played this season, Randolph shot 55.4% on the day from the floor and hit 14-of-26 from three (54.8%).
In a 21-5 run over 4:24 in the second half, Randolph took the lead thanks to shooting seven of eight, all of which were three point attempts.
