Randolph College Softball Ends 2013 Season With Loss to Shenandoah University in ODAC Tourney

                SALEM, Va. – The Randolph College softball team saw its 2013 season come to an end on Friday afternoon, falling to Shenandoah University 8-0 in action from the James E. Moyer Softball Complex in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Softball Tournament. The WildCats finished with a program-record 26 victories on the season.

                Shenandoah (25-17) got on the board in the bottom of the first, as Morgan Coble scored Brittany Guepe on a sacrifice fly. The Hornets busted the game open in the fourth inning, scoring four runs on four different RBI singles. SU's Kimberly Brady made the score 7-0 in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run shot.

                The Hornets earned the win in the bottom of the sixth, as Heather Sink singled in Denise Mitchell to end the contest. First-year Erin Wehrhan (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) was two-for-three on the afternoon for the WildCats, while Patti Vinson (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) doubled for her lone hit of the afternoon.

                Senior Brittany Willingham (Glen Burnie, Md./Glen Burnie) singled in her final collegiate contest, as she finished with 226 hits which is fifth-most in Old Dominion Athletic Conference history. Guepe had four hits in four at-bats for Shenandoah, scoring three runs, while Mitchell added two hits. Sink had two hits and two RBI, while Lauren McCabe finished two-for-three. Stephanie Cameron allowed four hits for the Hornets.

                The WildCats (26-16) are set to return all but two players in 2014, after setting multiple records in 2013.
