LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at the Crosswhite Athletic Club. The result did not go in the WildCats' favor as the Marlins won by the score of 5-0.
Second and third doubles was easily won by VWU with 8-0 scores. Joe Kaneda (Media, Pa./PennCrest) and Daniel Crutcher (Newton, N.C./Maiden) claimed two points at first doubles but fell to Nick Gunther and Mitchell Perry 8-2.
Bradley Strober (Stockton, N.J./Hunterdon Central) took on Paul Gladstone at first singles. Strober fought hard in the first set but lost 6-4. Gladstone won in the second set 6-1. Crutcher lost 6-0, 6-0 to Andreas Combos at second singles in the deciding match.
The WildCats host cross-city rival Lynchburg on Wednesday. Start time is at 3:00 p.m.
