Hornets Shut Out WildCats in Men's Tennis, 9-0, on Senior Day

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph College men's tennis team closed out its regular season with a 9-0 defeat to visiting Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foe Shenandoah University on Sunday afternoon.

Prior to the start of the match, the team honored its lone senior Bradley Strober (Stockton, N.J./Hunterdon Central) for his hard work and dedication for the past four years.

Strober paired up with Joe Kaneda (Media, Pa./Penncrest) at No. 1 doubles and would trail only by a set before the Hornets made their move to capture the 8-5 win. Shenandoah also claimed the win at the No. 2 spot as the tandem of John Coffron (Front Royal, Va./Warren County) and Ben Roberts (Davidson, N.C./Davidson Day) fell 8-0.

In No. 1 singles, Strober fell in his first set, 6-1, but battled in his second set to come out ahead, 4-3. However, the senior would ultimately drop the set, 6-4. Kaneda also dropped his first set in the No. 2 spot but would push his match to a tie-breaker set after claiming a 6-3 second set win. The junior battled fiercely but ended up falling, 10-7.
