GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Randolph College women's tennis team swept all three doubles matches and six singles matches to take down host and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Guilford College on Saturday afternoon.
Keyu Jin (Kunming, China/No. 8 Middle School) and Aubrey Hawn (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) won No. 1 doubles, 8-0, while the No. 2 doubles pairing of Ashley Schmitz (Keswick, Va./Homeschool) and Lauren Appel (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and the No. 3 tandem of Sarah Mueller (Falls Church, Va./George Mason) and Ranita Opoku-Sarfo (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) also won their respective flights with an 8-0 score.
In singles play, Jin and Schmitz each took a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, while Hawn swept 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 and Appel took No. 4 with a 6-0, 6-0 score. Both Mueller and Opoku-Sarfo would earn 6-0, 6-0 victories at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, to complete the sweep for Randolph.
The WildCats improve to 6-3, 3-2 ODAC and will continue conference play on Thursday, April 5 when they travel to Roanoke College for a 2 p.m. match-up.
