FOREST, Va.- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its All-Conference team in Women's Tennis on Wednesday morning. Fleur Gaalman (Abcoude, Utrecht, Netherlands Haarlemmermeer Lyceum Dalton) and Amy Rigg (Charlottesville, Va./The Covenant School) were both named to the Second Team for singles.
This is Gaalman's second straight All-Conference selection after being named to the First Team at second singles last year. Rejoining the WildCats in the spring, Gaalman posted an overall record of 9-4 with a 6-2 mark in conference play. All of those matches came at the second singles position while she was also 3-2 playing at first singles.
"Really happy for Fleur to get it for a second season in a row in singles," said head coach Sam Martinez. "She played so well in the big matches this spring and deserves it.
Rigg was 13-6 overall and 6-3 in ODAC play and led the WildCats in total wins. She was 7-4 playing at fifth singles but was also 2-0 at third and fourth singles.
"For Amy to earn All-ODAC honors is awesome and she earned it with how consistently she competed to the best she could. Great to see the other ODAC coaches recognized that."
