WildCats Keep Strong Start with 7-0 Win

RALEIGH, NC – The Randolph College men's tennis continued its strong start to the season with a 7-0 win over William Peace University.  The last two matches were not finished due to rain, but both WildCats were winning both matches in convincing fashion before the cancellation.

Doubles started the match and all of the three pairs had solid outings.  JT von Seggern and Dario Schiano-Moriello took down their opponents at number one, giving up only two games on the way to an 8-2 win.

The number two and three pairs changed from Friday, but both had 8-0 wins.  Bradley Strober moved up to number two with Doug Corbett and the results proved flawless with a sweep.  Trevor Johnson switched to number three and teamed with Q Manglapus, playing in his first match of the year, and they followed suit.

Singles saw similar results.  Strober continued his hot start, winning 6-0, 6-1 at number one.  Johnson took over the second spot today and had a solid 6-2, 6-4 victory in a new spot.  Corbett also jumped up a spot, taking number three singles 6-1, 6-0.

The last three spots also saw people move up, with each having great success.  Schiano-Moriello won 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles.  Tuan Tran and Joe Kaneda played at number five and six.  Tran was winning 6-1, 2-0 while Kaneda was up 6-0 but neither match was finished.

The WildCats (4-0 overall) will be in action on Friday.  The 'Cats play Southern Virginia University at home at 2 p.m.
