WildCats Men's Tennis take down LC 7-2

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Randolph College men's tennis team continued to impress on the courts Saturday, defeating Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and city rival Lynchburg College, 7-2.

The WildCats started out impressively, winning all three doubles matches.  Dario Schiano-Moriello and JT von Seggern won at number one, 8-3.  Trevor Johnson and Doug Corbett followed suit defeating their counterparts at number two by a score of 8-6.  In the third doubles, Bradley Strober and Tuan Tran continued their undefeated fall, winning 8-2.

Strober kept up the success in singles, winning at number two, in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.  Schiano-Moriello moved up to the fourth spot today after playing as the fifth yesterday, and won his match 6-3, 6-4.  Joe Kaneda got his first action of the week, competing at number six singles, and won a great match, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 in the tiebreaker.  At that point the sun was almost set.

Seggern won his match at number one singles, going up 3-0 before his opponent retired.  Corbett and Tran both moved up from the previous day, to play a singles spot higher and fell in two close matches.

Randolph (2-0 overall) will play no more team events this fall, but will head to the ITA Regionals at Mary Washington University.  The tournament will take place the first weekend of October.
