Tennis Opens Season with Win over Knights

BUENA VISTA, VA – The Randolph College men's tennis team opened up the fall season with a 5-4 win at Southern Virginia University on Friday.

The Knights won first and second doubles, before Bradley Strober and Tuan Tran continued their successful fall.  They won the third doubles match in dominating fashion, 8-2, which followed last weekend's WildCat Fall Invitational Flight 3 Doubles title.

Strober and Tran continued their winning ways, winning singles at number two and number six respectively.  Strober won 6-4, 6-0, while Tran won 6-0, 6-2.  It capped off a run of four out of six singles wins for the WildCats.  JT von Seggern won his singles match (#1) 6-0, 6-4, and Dario Schiano-Moriello took number five singles, 7-5, 6-2.

Randolph (1-0 overall) hosts Lynchburg College in a cross town matchup on Saturday.  The match starts at 3 p.m.
