Fagone Hits Elusive 200-Save Mark in Women's Lacrosse Finale

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Senior goalkeeper Samantha Fagone would not be denied reaching the 200 save mark this year.

After finishing just one stop shy of becoming the first player in the ODAC to stop 200 shots in a year in 2014, Fagone made nine stops today to finish her senior campaign with 201 saves, which leads the nation.

The WildCats fell in the season finale, 21-1, to the nation's No. 11 ranked team, Washington & Lee.

Randolph's goal came in the first half as junior Taylor Riccardi and senior Taylor Klevenz linked up, as they have frequently of late.

Riccardi finished off a Klevenz feed to find the back of the net.

Klevenz, competing in the final game of her career, finishes with 174 goals, 63 assists and 237 points in her historic career, all program records.

She also broke the single-season record for goals per game this season, as well as the draw controls mark, which she also holds the single game and career record for.

In addition, she finishes the year tied for the program record for caused turnovers with 30.

Fagone finishes with 701 career saves and a save percentage of .455, also program records.

Her .473 save percentage this year is a program record for a season.
