Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Seniors Taylor Klevenz and Samantha Fagone continued their record statistical paces in Saturday's contest against Lynchburg.
The two Senior Day honorees both starred, as Klevenz tied her own program record set earlier this week with seven goals once again, while Fagone totaled 13 saves in net.
Unfortunately for the two, the result of the contest is not what they wanted, as Lynchburg won, 22-8.
Klevenz had a hand in all eight Randolph goals on the day, scoring seven and assisting on junior co-captain Taylor Riccardi's goal in the second half.
Klevenz scored four times in the first half, unassisted on the first two occasions and off of a free position on the final two.
Randolph's first goal of the second half belonged to Riccardi.
The WildCats closed strongly with Klevenz scoring three of the final four goals in the game to reach that seven goal milestone with 34.8 seconds to go.
The single game scoring record was a long-elusive one for Klevenz, the program's all-time top scorer, who finally broke it on Wednesday in a win at Hollins.
It took just three days to match it, as she became the first player in program history with 14 goals in a two-game span.
On the other end, Fagone, Randolph's all-time goalkeeping leader in almost every category, made 13 stops to add to her nation's leading total in that category.
Pregame, those two were honored as part of Senior Day festivities.
"You have been the heart and soul of the team this year, and I cannot put into words of how much of a privilege it has been to coach the both of you," head coach Alexis Wagner was quoted as saying in the ceremony. "As you continue on and leave the red brick wall behind you, know that you have 15 teammates and three coaches to help you along the way. And most of all know you will always have a home to come back to no matter where you are."
For Lynchburg, Caroline Carozza had a record-setting day with five goals and eight assists, while Katherine Francis had six goals of her own.
Randolph is next in action on Wednesday against Guilford at 7 p.m., in the final home game in the careers of the seniors and the penultimate game of the season.
