Women's Tennis Stays Hot to Earn Program-Record Fifth Straight Victory

EMORY, Va. -- For the first time since the ODAC switched formats in 2007, Randolph has won five straight women's tennis matches.

Played to decision, Randolph was victorious over Emory & Henry, 5-1.

Randolph won all three doubles matches to get the day started well.

At top doubles, junior Dina Velazco and sophomore Jenna Sweet defeated reigning ODAC Rookie of the Year Stella Di Michele and teammate Danielle Amoruso, 8-3.

At No. 2, junior Sarah Parker and sophomore Heather Parra bested All-ODAC performer Lauren Riner and her partner Sheyenne Cleveland by the same score.

Senior Tiandre Forde and sophomore Anna McKenzie finished the sweep with an 8-2 win at No. 3.

Di Michele got revenge on Velazco in singles play, but Randolph got wins from Parker at No. 2 (6-1, 6-1) and Forde at No. 5 (6-0, 6-0) to earn the five points needed for victory.

Randolph had multiple four-match winning streaks, including three in the last two years, before today's first-ever five-match run.

The team has a chance to make it six against Roanoke at home on Friday.
