Templin Sets Career Mark in Kills on Day Two of CUA Tournament

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- On a day in which Randolph struggled as a unit, the most prestigious individual record in program history fell.

Senior Jordan Templin continued her quest to become the first WildCat to 1,000 career kills as she jumped Kristin Spinner (914) and Kelly Chapman (905) to become the all-time leader in career kills.

Averaging over 10 kills per match this weekend, Templin made the leap over both of her predecessors this afternoon.

Interestingly, the torch has been passed seemlessly for Randolph, as Chapman was the team's leading hitter from 2003-06 before Spinner took over from 2007-10.

Templin's was a first-year for Randolph in 2011.

For her work this weekend, Templin was named to the All-Tournament team.

"Congratulations to Jordan on her accomplishment," head coach Kara Matthews said. "She has been a great asset to our program in her career and I am happy to see her hard work pay off."

Senior Lexi Harrington continued to chase Beth Berman's mark of 1,182 career digs, as the libero is within striking distance of the top of the program's record book and has a chance to break that mark this week.

In the two matches on the day, Randolph fell 3-0 to both Cabrini and Marymount (Va.).

The team is next in action for its home opener on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
