SWEET BRIAR, Va. -- Randolph swept doubles and the final five
singles matches to earn a big ODAC win today.
First-year Alison
Henry (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) and
junior Patricia
Verdezoto (Cuenza, Azuay, Ecuador/Bilingue
Interamericano) won 8-5 at top doubles.
Sophomore Dina
Velazco (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Colegio Las
Fuertes) and first-year Jenna
Sweet (Clarksville, Md./Atholton) were
victorious, 8-1.
First-year Heather
Parra (Wilmington, N.C./Eugene Ashley) and
sophomore Sarah
Parker (Washington, D.C. / Sidwell
Friends) also cruised, 8-2.
After Verdezoto fell at top singles to Caitlin Delmas, who has
only lost once this year, each of her teammates won in straight
sets to earn Randolph the win.
With the win, Randolph moves up to fourth in the ODAC, with only
two league matches remaining. The top four seeds in the league
receive home playoff matches.
