Women's Tennis Wraps Up Regular Season With Sweep at Guilford

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Randolph awaits its playoff fate after concluding its regular season with a 9-0 win.

Randolph only lost two games in its three doubles matches this afternoon.

First-year Alison Henry (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) and junior Patricia Verdezoto (Cuenza, Azuay, Ecuador/Bilingue Interamericano), as well as first-year Heather Parra (Wilmington, N.C./Eugene Ashley) and sophomore Sarah Parker (Washington, D.C. / Sidwell Friends), won 8-1 at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively.

At No. 2, sophomore Dina Velazco (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Colegio Las Fuertes) and first-year Jenna Sweet (Clarksville, Md./Atholton) won all eight games for a sweep.

All six players were straight set winners in singles play as well, with nobody losing more than two games in a set.

Randolph, now 12-5 and 7-4 in ODAC play, will compete on April 20 for the first round of the ODAC tournament with its finish.

Currently, the rest of the ODAC slate is expected to end on Wednesday evening, with the announcement of pairings following shortly thereafter.

The WildCats have already set a program record for wins in a season.
