Men's Tennis Awaits Playoff Fate After Regular-Season Concludes

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Randolph lost its regular season finale today, and will await its playoff assignment.

The WildCats closed the regular season with a 9-0 defeat.

Junior Daniil Lyalko (Reisterstown, Md./Park School of Baltimore) and first-year Doug Corbett (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) fell at top doubles by a score of 8-2.

First-years Q Manglapus (Falls Church, Va./-) junior Dan Phung (Hanoi, Vietnam/International) were defeated at No. 2, 8-1.

Junior Zach Dales (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque) and first-year Tuan Tran (Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam/High School for the Gifted) lost at No. 3 doubles, as well, 8-3.

In singles play, Manglapus forced a supertiebreaker with a split in his first two sets, but fell 10-6. Randolph lost the remainder of the individual play in straight sets.

Randolph concludes its regular season with the most wins in program history, both overall in conference play.

The WildCats finish at 7-9, 3-7 and sit in the No. 8 spot in the conference standings. Randolph is one of two teams to finish its slate and will await the official playoff pairings, which will be announced at the conclusion of the entire ODAC schedule.

Currently, the season is expected to end on Wednesday evening, with the announcement following shortly thereafter.
