Men's Tennis Falls to Randolph-Macon in Season's Home Finale

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Randolph-Macon swept today's matches, dispatching of Randolph, 9-0.

Junior Daniil Lyalko (Reisterstown, Md./Park School of Baltimore) and first-year Doug Corbett (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) fell at top doubles by a score of 8-4.

First-years Q Manglapus (Falls Church, Va./-) and JT von Seggern (McLean, Va./Langley) were defeated in a tough match, 9-7, at No. 2.

Juniors Zach Dales (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque) and Dan Phung (Hanoi, Vietnam/International) lost at No. 3 doubles, as well, 8-3.

In singles play, Randolph lost in straight sets except for Manglapus at No. 4, who won the first set, 6-1, before falling in a supertiebreaker.

Randolph wraps up its regular season with a trip to Guilford on Saturday.

The WildCats, currently sitting in the eighth position in the ODAC standings, cannot be overcome by any team behind them and have defeated all three teams below them in the standings.

Randolph would travel to top-ranked Washington and Lee next week should standings hold.
