LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Women's tennis moved to 4-0 and 1-0 in ODAC play with another resounding win.
Randolph has now won 34 of 36 matches this season.
First-year Alison Henry (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) and junior Patricia Verdezoto (Cuenza, Azuay, Ecuador/Bilingue Interamericano) were pushed to the limit at No. 1 doubles, but won a tiebreaker, 7-5, to give the WildCats the win.
The pairs of sophomore Dina Velazco (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Colegio Las Fuertes) and first-year Jenna Sweet (Clarksville, Md./Atholton), as well as first-year Heather Parra (Wilmington, N.C./Eugene Ashley) and sophomore Sarah Parker (Washington, D.C. / Sidwell Friends), won in more convincing fashion, 8-1 and 8-0, respectively.
In the singles draw, Verdezoto fell to Victoria Coffee, an All-ODAC performer in 2012-13, 6-4, 6-0.
The rest of her teammates picked her up, however, as the other five players won all but two of their sets 6-0.
Randolph has a quick turnaround, playing again Sunday at Virginia State.
