NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Randolph's men's tennis team fell today, 8-1, at Virginia Wesleyan in a match moved indoors.
Randolph won at No. 2 doubles, as first-year players Q Manglapus (Falls Church, Va./-) and JT von Seggern (McLean, Va./Langley) took an 8-6 decision.
Junior Daniil Lyalko (Reisterstown, Md./Park School of Baltimore) and first-year Doug Corbett (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) lost 8-3 at top doubles, while juniors Zach Dales (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque) and Dan Phung (Hanoi, Vietnam/International) fell, 8-2.
In singles play, Virginia Wesleyan controlled the matches, winning all six in straight sets.
The WildCats next compete at Roanoke on Friday.
