Women's Tennis Completes Season Sweep of Southern Virginia, 6-0

BUENA VISTA, Va. -- Randolph, which beat SVU 8-1 in the fall, completed a season sweep of the Knights this evening under the lights.

First-year Alison Henry (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) and junior Patricia Verdezoto (Cuenza, Azuay, Ecuador/Bilingue Interamericano) were strong at top doubles winning 8-6.

At second doubles, first-year Jenna Sweet (Clarksville, Md./Atholton) and sophomore Dina Velazco (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Colegio Las Fuertes) won, 8-4.

First-year Heather Parra (Wilmington, N.C./Eugene Ashley)  sophomore Sarah Parker (Washington, D.C. / Sidwell Friends) won at No. 3, 8-2.

In singles play, Henry, Velazco and Parker, all won in straight sets.

Randolph next competes on Friday as both programs host Emory & Henry.
