Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Randolph got back in the win column in a huge way this afternoon, dominating ODAC counterpart Hollins in a 9-0 Homecoming victory.
Before the game, the team honored its lone senior, Brittany Hammons, as part of Senior Day. To see that ceremony, click here.
Once the team took the field, the WildCats ensured that Hammons's day would be a successful one, controlling possession from start to finish in a win.
Sophomores Leah Hughes and Erin McClelland linked up early to give Randolph the lead just over a dozen minutes into the contest.
Another duo of second-year players teamed up four minutes later, as Sarah Sivick fed Maggie Croft to double the lead.
McClelland got her second off an assist from Hammons shortly thereafter, giving McClelland her first-ever multi-goal game.
Hammons, who is Randolph's fourth-highest scoring player ever, got in the goal column next with a feed from first-year Austin Wampler.
Just before the half, Wampler set up Leslie Harrison, as the sophomore was true with a one-touch shot off of a through ball.
After halftime, Harrison once again earned a marker, this time off a deflected cross from McClelland.
Randolph kicked the extra point to make it 7-0 when Alissa Gembach took possession about 25 yards out with a strong defensive play and chipped it over the keeper.
With a dozen minutes left, Hammons got her second, when junior Ally Ramos fed her down the wing.
Ramos's assist was the seventh of the day for the WildCats, the most in program history for a single game.
Rounding out the scoring, starting goalkeeper Stephanie Quirk took to the outfield jersey and scored off a feed from Wampler.
For Wampler, her three assists ties Harrrison's program record, set earlier this year.
In program history, the WildCats had only scored more than seven goals three times, with a record 12 coming at Hollins in 2003.
The team also posted 11 against Trinity in 2012 and 10 against Hollins in 2004.
Twice, Randolph had six assists, with 2004 and 2005 wins against Hollins and Mary Baldwin, respectively, holding the record for the most in the game for Randolph.
The WildCats close out their season with another home ODAC tilt, facing Sweet Briar on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
