Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. -- Randolph took a set off of the most prolific volleyball team in the ODAC in one of the most thrilling and well-played matches in program history.
Set scores were 27-25, 23-25, 25-22, 30-28, as Randolph earned its first-ever set win over Washington and Lee.
In addition, senior Kerry McMichael finished with a program record 55 assists, eclipsing the 50 she has had twice already this year.
The first set was incredibly dramatic with 18 ties, including 11 straight ties from 13-13 to 23-23.
Randolph took a 4-1 lead early, but that was the last time either squad would lead by more than two in the frame.
Against the 14-time ODAC champions, Randolph had a chance to win its first set ever against Washington and Lee in the first, with set points at 25-24 and 26-25.
The two-time defending league winners rallied, however, scoring the final three points in a 27-25 victory.
The second set was just as competitive, with the teams alternating the first eight points before Randolph took the lead.
The WildCats would not relinquish that edge until a 23-20 mark disapeared thanks to three straight W&L points.
Back-to-back kills from senior Katherine Lesnak gave Randolph the first set win in program history.
The final point was a thing of beauty, as attempts by Lesnak and junior Marissa McClinton were saved heroically to delay Randolph's celebration. On the team's third try, however, Lesnak was true, giving the WildCats the set.

Randolph scored the first four points in set three, jumping out to a 10-6 edge, but W&L responded with 10 of the next 13 to earn the lead.
The WildCats took six of eight to regain the lead, 19-18, but the next four went the way of the hosts as they went on to close out the set, 25-22.
In the fourth set, things continued to be wild, as the teams exchanged runs until the score sat at 21-21.
After alternating points, Randolph was left with a set point, but could not convert, putting the score at 25 apiece.
Two kills by reigning National Player of the Week, senior Jordan Templin, helped Randolph fight off three match points, but the team could not fight off a fourth.
Templin finished with 26 kills, her third straight with at least 20. She also led Randolph with 17 digs.
Randolph is next in action on Friday for a homecoming battle against Shenandoah. First serve is slated for 7 p.m., and fans are encouraged to wear teal for thyroid cancer awareness.
