Box Score LYNCHBURG, VA. -- Men's soccer is now 7-0-1 and 2-0 in the ODAC, matching the record for longest unbeaten streak, eight games, since the program's inception.
In 2011, Randolph won eight straight two separate times to set the program's longest winning and unbeaten streaks.
Today, starting off the scoring was the ODAC Player of the Year in that season, Corey Sindle (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester).
The senior first scored on an assist from a long ball from classmate Will Wolf (Goldsboro, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) over the defense, allowing Sindle a one-on-one with the keeper.
Later in the frame, it was first-year Brian Anderson (Yorktown, Va./Grafton) who put Sindle in and again the forward converted, doubling the lead.
Sindle leads the ODAC in goals, assists and points and became the first player in program history with 100 career points.
After halftime, Randolph scored twice, ten minutes apart.
Senior John Adams (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) shot the first cross-cage after senior Jacob Lusczek (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) tracked down a long pass from first-year Blake Heatherly (Jacksonville, N.C./Jacksonville).
Heatherly had a hand in the final goal as well, setting up Lusczek for a volley off a free kick.
Virginia Wesleyan (6-3, 2-1 ODAC) got one back four minutes later, but it was too little too late for the previously top seeded Marlins, as they couldn't beat senior Carter Smith (Greensboro, N.C./Grimsley) again despite six total shots on target.
Back in action on Tuesday, a win on the road against Randolph-Macon would put the WildCats on top of the ODAC after three weeks of conference play. The team holds the best overall record among conference teams and is one of three teams to earn wins in each of its conference games, joining Roanoke (3-0) and Lynchburg (1-0).
