LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Randolph College sophomore Patricia Verdezoto (Cuenza, Azuay, Ecuador/Bilingue Interamericano) posted a straight set win in singles play, but the WildCat women's team dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match to Roanoke College 8-1 Friday.

The Maroons (9-3/7-1 ODAC) earned all three wins in doubles, though Verdezoto and Kaitlyn Kolster (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) narrowly dropped an 8-6 decision at No. 2 pairs. In singles play, Randolph had two players retire while still in the match. Verdezoto chalked up victory with scores of three and three at No. 2 singles, and has won two straight matches in individual play.

Randolph (6-4/3-4 ODAC) will be back in action tomorrow afternoon at Randolph-Macon College.
