Alexis Waggoner (née Wagner) is in her ninth season as the WildCats head mentor. Waggoner took over the program in 2009-10 in Randolph's provisional year, guiding the team into ODAC competition in 2010-11. Waggoner led the WildCats to their first victory, home victory and also the squad's first ODAC win in 2012 over Sweet Briar. Randolph has also had four student-athletes honored on the All-ODAC lists since her arrival.
In 2014, Randolph broke a program record for wins in a season, the culmination of numerous steps forward over the previous years.
Waggoner has coached at both the college and high school level in her coaching career. She served as assistant coach at Merrimack College in Andover, Massachusetts from 2004-2007. At Merrimack, Waggoner assisted in all phases of the women's lacrosse program including organizing and coaching practices, scouting opponents, and recruiting potential student-athletes. Waggoner was instrumental in leading the Warriors to becoming a national power at the Division II level. During her three seasons as assistant coach, Merrimack became nationally ranked for the first time in school history and broke over 16 school records. Waggoner also coached four second team All-American players at Merrimack.
In 2008, Waggoner switched to the high school ranks serving as the head lacrosse coach at Austin Prep in Reading, Mass. At Austin Prep, Waggoner was responsible for establishing and organizing a program that was in just its second year of existence.
Waggoner also enjoyed an accomplished playing career starting with her time at Lawrence Academy in Groton, Mass. She played four years at Lawrence before enrolling at Elmira College in upstate New York where she played three seasons at the Division III institution. Waggoner finished her undergraduate degree in communications with a concentration in marketing at Merrimack in 2007.
She is married to former Randolph's head men's soccer coach, Bryan Waggoner.
