2017: Closed out an outstanding career with a great season…the big attackman started every game up top for the WildCats…played in a variety of spots throughout the offense…finished third on the team with 23 goals and 10 assists, and tied for second in points with 33…also tallied four man-up goals on the year…had two or more goals in eight games on the year…had three-straight hat tricks…started the run with five points against #18 Roanoke…ended it with four goals and an assist in big win over Greensboro…in five games with two goals, also notched an assist…assisted on Scott Wilkinson’s triple-OT winner against Centre…picked up 20 ground balls and caused five turnovers…ends his career tied for fourth in assists (31), sixth in goals (55), and seventh in points (86)…will be missed by the team and the staff, and the Sports Information Department for his great work in ’Cat Chat.
2016: Made his largest impact yet in his third season with the WildCats…played in 17 games during the season, starting 15 of them in attack…used his size and strength to score from the left throughout most of the year…finished second on the team with 23 goals, which more than doubled his two previous seasons combined…also assisted on eight tallies during the year…had four games with two goals and an additional three with hat tricks…posted four points in the OT win over Ferrum…picked up 13 ground balls on the year…will be looked to add even more punch to the offense as a senior.
2015: Missed the first five games of the season but made a large impact after coming back…scored five goals and assists on six more for 11 points…tallied four points against Randolph-Macon, two goals and two assists…also had two points (1 goal, 1 assist) in the win over Shenandoah University…the offensive-minded player will look to increase his output as a junior with playing a full season.
2014: Helped the offense greatly in his first season on Rivermont…played in every game, which included two starts…recorded his first point as an assist in the win over Alma…picked up his first goal, as part of a pair, in the win over Southern Virginia…finished that game with a season-high of three (had an assist)…also tallied two points against Roanoke and the win over Methodist…finished the season with 17 groundballs and six caused turnovers…will look to make an even larger impact as a sophomore.
Before Randolph: Mitch spent his last two years of high school at Christchurch School after transferring from the James River Prep School...he played on the lacrosse team all four years, captaining two of them and earning four letters...coached by Vince Smith...he also earned two letters on the basketball team under coach Ben Thompson...won the D2 state championship in basketball...was the Student Body President for the SGA and on the Dean''s List in high school...was also nominated for the Phipps Progress award.
