DANVILLE, Va. - The Randolph College women's soccer team continues its unbeaten streak with a 5-0 shutout over Averett to open up conference play. This is the team's best start since 2024, when they also started 5-0-2.
The WildCats started quickly with an early goal just over a minute into the game by
Bailey Richardson, with an assist from
Casey Serttas. Richardson followed that up with a solo goal two minutes later to push the 'Cats up 2-0. The Cougars held off the WildCats' scoring for a moment; however, in the 20th minute, an assist from
Noelle Kaiser notched Richardson's hat trick with her goal third of the game.Â
The WildCats entered halftime up 3-0.
Straight out of the half,
Holly Bermingham continued Randolph's offensive pressure with a goal in the 46th minute, assisted by
Alina Fant. Just over two minutes later, Bermingham put another one in the back of the net for the 5-0 win.
Randolph controlled the shots category with 38 shots to the Cougars' two shots. Serttas led all players with 11 shots, four on target. Richardson had seven shots and five on target.
Kacie Walker got the start in the net for the WildCats to keep the Cougars off the board.
Abby Gilbert saw time in the net and collected two saves.
The 'Cats are back home for senior day on Saturday against No. 2 Â Washington & Lee at 1 p.m.
