LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph College women's soccer team celebrated its senior class on Saturday afternoon at WildCat Stadium, before facing Washington and Lee University. The WildCats fell to the Generals 6-0, to end their undefeated streak.
The WildCats held the Generals off the scoreboard for the opening 33 minutes before a Generals' penalty kick in the 33rd minute resulted in a goal. Just over two minutes later, the Generals' doubled their lead to 2-0 heading into halftime.
Washington and Lee added four goals in the second half.
The Generals finished with a 36-4 advantage in shots and held a 13-2 edge in corner kicks. Randolph put one shot on goal, while the WildCats' goalkeepers,
Kacie Walker and
Abby Gilbert recorded eight combined saves.
The team is back on the road to Batten (formerly Virginia Wesleyan) on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
