Women's Volleyball Splits at Seahawk Tri-Match

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Randolph WildCats women's volleyball team hit the road once more, this time traveling to Maryland for the Seahawks Tri-Match. Battling Hood College and host St. Mary's College of Maryland, the 'Cats split the afternoon, going 1-1.

GAME ONE: HOOD COLLEGE — 25-14, 25-13, 25-13

The WildCats jumped out to early leads in each set before pulling away for the 3-0 victory. Randolph led in all major statistical categories, hitting .360 as a team while limiting the Blazers to a .078 hitting percentage. The 'Cats committed just one attack error across the match, collecting 32 kills on 86 attacks.

Once again, Destanie Ambers led the way with nine kills, while Tiffany Carr provided a spark with five aces. Carly Schopp tallied 18 assists to lead both teams, while she and McKayla Padgett each added nine digs in the win. Six different WildCats hit around .300 or better across the three sets.

GAME TWO: ST. MARY'S COLLEGE — 25-20, 23-25, 25-16, 25-19

Taking on the host Seahawks, the 'Cats found themselves on the wrong side of a four-set battle, falling 3-1. After dropping the opening set, Randolph responded by taking the second set by the slimmest of margins before St. Mary's closed out the match with wins in the final two sets.
