LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph WildCats men's soccer team hosted the Hampden-Sydney Tigers to round out WildCat Weekend, but ultimately fell short in their penultimate non-conference battle, 2-1.

The Tigers got off to a fast start, scoring twice in the opening half to take a 2-0 lead into the break. Randolph found the back of the net in the 63rd minute, as KJ Wolford struck to cut the visitors' lead in half. The 'Cats threatened to find the equalizer late in the match, but the Tiger defense stood tall to lock up the victory.

Dominic Cortes turned in another strong performance in goal, making six saves, while Tyler Richardson led the way offensively with two shots on goal.

With the loss, the WildCats fall to 3-2-1 on the season. Randolph will close out its non-conference schedule at home against Greensboro on Sept. 23. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
