LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph WildCats men's soccer team battled but came up short against the Pfeiffer Falcons on Tuesday night, falling 2-0. Pfeiffer scored in the 73rd and 85th minutes to secure the victory.

Randolph held the high-powered Pfeiffer offense in check through the opening 45 minutes, limiting the Falcons to just three shots. The WildCats recorded three shots of their own as the teams entered halftime scoreless.

Pfeiffer's attack found its footing in the second half, putting pressure on the Randolph defense and forcing Dominic Cortes into seven saves on the night. The total marked Cortes' highest since recording six saves against Guilford in 2025. Nick Conboy led the WildCats with two shots, including one on goal.

With the loss, the WildCats fall to 3-1-1, their first defeat of the season. They return to action on Saturday, Sept. 19 against Hampton-Sydney for a non-conference match-up. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
