WESTMINSTER, Md.- The Randolph men's soccer team headed on the road on Saturday as they traveled to McDaniel College. The Green Terror won the game by the score of 3-0. Randolph's overall record stands at 2-2-2 on the season.
The WildCats recorded two shots, both by Anelka Ngoy, (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) that were off the mark in the 25 minutes of the first half. McDaniel scored its first goal in the 28th minute to lead 1-0. Marcus Cortes (Annandale, Va./Annandale HS) had Randolph's first shot on goal at 28:09 but it was stopped by McDaniel goalkeeper Tate Roth. The Green Terror scored again in the 43rd minute to take a 2-0 lead.
Cortes again registered a shot on goal just over a minute into the second half that was stopped by Roth. That proved to be Randolph's only other shot on goal in the period as McDaniel scored again in the 73rd minute to complete the scoring in the game.
Overall, McDaniel led in total shots 15-7 and 7-2 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were in the Green Terror's favor 7-2.
Dominic Cortes (Annandale, Va./Annandale HS) finished with four saves in goal for Randolph. Roth had two save for McDaniel.
The WildCats are back on the road on Wednesday as they travel to Pfeiffer. Game time from Misenheimer, N.C. will be at 3:00 p.m.
