ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Randolph women's soccer team took the trip down to North Carolina Wesleyan University on Wednesday afternoon. It was an even game through the first half and part of the second, however, the WildCats fell 1-2 to the Battling Bishops.
The first half saw a goal apiece for the teams. The Battling Bishops got on the board first just over a minute into the game. The WildCats soon followed with a goal from
Madison Booker, assisted by
Rozzalyn Jackson, four minutes later. The teams were tied heading into halftime.
Entering into the second half, both teams played defense well to keep the other from scoring. However, in the 71-minute mark, the Battling Bishops added another goal to put themselves ahead. With plenty of time remaining, the WildCats continued to look to even the score, but they were not able to find an opening.Â
As a team, Randolph out shot N.C. Wesleyan 11-8, 5-6 shots on goal. WildCats' goalkeeper
Rachel Fields made two saves along with
Abby Gilbert tallying one save for a total of three saves. The Battling Bishops goalkeeper Grace Walls made four saves.
The 'Cats are back home at WildCat Stadium on Saturday when they host Regent at 2 p.m.
