FOREST, Va.- The ODAC announced its weekly award for Women's Tennis on Monday. Sophomore Lena Kersten (Bonn, Germany/Otto Kuhne Schule) was named the Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week.

Kersten went 4-0 in both doubles and singles play last week in Hilton Head, S.C. Against Lake Forest on Wednesday, she defeated Sofia Strupovets, who is ranked #14 in the Midwest Region, 6-1, 6-4. She teamed up with Lize van Veen to win her doubles match 6-4. The pair won on Thursday against Greenville's first doubles team and Kersten defeated Irlanda Oliver 6-1, 6-0 at first singles.

Kersten has an overall 8-2 record in singles competition this year. She is 6-3 with Van Veen in doubles play.
