Women's Soccer Blank Vixens 3-0

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph women's soccer team hosted ODAC opponent, Sweet Briar, for an evening midweek game. The WildCats got the shutout over the Vixens with two goals in the first half and one in the second.

It was a fairly early goal for the WildCats in the 17th minute, with first-year Casey Serttas taking the ball up the field herself, and scoring her first career goal in a Randolph uniform. The WildCats followed that goal up with another one about seven minutes later from junior Madison Booker

The 'Cats were able to hold off the Vixens from getting on the scoreboard as the half closed out with Randolph up 2-0.

Out of halftime, Sweet Briar looking to avoid a shutout and keep Randolph from scoring again was not able to get past the Randolph defense. Randolph added another goal to the scoreboard in the 73-minute when Booker went for a shot, but it was punched out by the Vixens' goalkeeper, and it rebounded to junior Keghan Marion for the 'Cats third goal of the night.

Sweet Briar could not find an answer in the closing minutes and Randolph secured the 3-0 shutout.

Randolph led in shots 20-1, 12-0 shots on goal.

The WildCats our on the road to Hollins on Saturday for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
