The WildCats struck first in the first half when Booker netted her second goal of the season, assisted by first-year
Kyla Lockette, to give Randolph an early 1-0 lead. The Battling Bishops responded not too long after, with Makena Meyer finding the back of the net off an assist from Samantha Dell to level the score at 1-1.
Just before the end of the first half, Randolph reclaimed the lead in the 42nd minute. Ramirez-Rodriguez capitalized on a through-ball from graduate student
Carlynne Wright to score her first goal of the season, sending Randolph into halftime with a 2-1 advantage.
N.C. Wesleyan continued its offensive press in the second half, and Meyer netted her second goal of the game with an assist from Dell for the equalizer, 2-2. However, the 'Cats were not finished. In the 76th minute, Booker notched her second goal, securing the game-winner and her third goal of the season, sealing the 3-2 victory for the WildCats.
Both teams battled on the field throughout the game, with Randolph narrowly outshooting N.C. Wesleyan 15-14, including 10 shots on goal for the WildCats and nine shots on goal for the Battling Bishops. Randolph goalkeeper junior
Rachel Fields recorded seven saves, while N.C. Wesleyan goalkeepers Olivia Dyjewski and Grace Wells combined for a total of seven saves. The teams were evenly matched on corner kicks, earning three opportunities each.
The 'Cats look to build on this momentum in their next match when the team heads to Danville, Va. to face Averett University for its first ODAC match-up of the season on Friday at 7 p.m.
