Women's Soccer Draws 1-1 Against Meredith

LYNCHBURG Va, - Randolph College Women's Soccer, in a hard-fought contest on a stormy evening, ended in a 1-1 tie against Meredith College. The game was marked by two lightning delays during a scoreless first half, setting the stage for an intense second half.

Meredith College broke the deadlock at the 57:53 minute mark when Rebecca Morrison found the back of the net to put the Avenging Angels on top. However, Randolph responded with the equalizer at the 72:59 minute mark as senior Sterlyn Woodward converted a well-timed assist from sophomore Amanda Ramirez-Rodriguez.

The Avenging Angels applied pressure throughout the match recording nine shots and six shots on target, but the WildCats' defense held strong with junior goalkeeper Rachel Fields making five saves. On the other end, the 'Cats recorded six shots, with three on goal, including a last shot attempt from junior Alana Ellis that was saved by Meredith's goalkeeper Samantha Woodfin, keeping the score leveled.

The 'Cats are back at WildCat Stadium for an evening match-up against Agnes Scott College at 7 p.m.
