TEMPE, ARIZ.- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its final ITA Division III Women's National Team Computerized Rankings and Regional Team, Singles, and Doubles Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point on Wednesday. Randolph's Lena Kersten (Bonn, Germany/Otto Kuhne Schule) was ranked #16 in the Atlantic South Region.
Kersten is just the second Randolph women's tennis player in the history of the program to receive a regional ranking and the first since Rashanna Ross in 1999 who was ranked #13. She is one of three women's tennis players from the ODAC to be ranked joining Washington and Lee's Gabi Moss (7th) and Lauren Long (9th).
Last month, Kersten was named the ITA Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year. She also earned Rookie of the Year honors from the ODAC and is the first in Randolph women's tennis history to receive both awards. She was 19-0 this past season, setting a WildCat single season record for victories, and went 10-0 in ODAC play.
