Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Ngoy’s Game Winner Lifts Men’s Soccer to 1-0 Win at Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va.- For nearly 88 minutes of game time, the Randolph and Shenandoah men's soccer team were deadlocked at 0-0. The game seemed destined to end in a tie but Anelka Ngoy's (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) strike from just over 10 yards out with 2:18 remaining gave the visiting WildCats a big 1-0 ODAC win over the Hornets.

With the victory, Randolph improves to 3-3-5 overall and 2-1-1 in the conference play. Shenandoah drops to 6-5-1 and 1-2 in the ODAC.

The Hornets dominated in total shots 17-3. Shots on goal were 3-1 in SU's favor with Ngoy's goal representing the WildCats' only shot on frame.

Shenandoah had two shots on goal in the first half. The Hornets' last chance for a goal came in the 76th minute but goalkeeper Carter Kelly (Carrollton, Va./Smithfield) was there to tally the save.

The Randolph defense secured its six straight shutout of the season. It is also Kelly's sixth clean sheet as he finished the game with three saves in total.

The WildCats will make the short trip across town on Wednesday to face cross-city rival Lynchburg. Game time will be at 7:00 p.m.
