WINCHESTER, Va. - Randolph College Women's Soccer faced a tough outing against Shenandoah, falling 0-8 on the road. The Hornets' aggressive offense proved challenging as they put consistent pressure on the WildCats' defense. Despite a hard-fought effort, the WildCats struggled to break through Shenandoah's defensive lines.
The Hornets got out quickly and scored the first goal of the game in the first minute from a high-center shot by McKenna Newcome, assisted by Chandler Gallant. The Hornets held the possession for most of the half with only one shot taken by WildCat midfielder
Keghan Marion that went high over the goal. Shenandoah continued their offensive pressure, adding two more goals within the first nine minutes, with Kirklyn Wilson and Kaitlyn Wahl both contributing to the early surge.
By halftime, the Hornets led 5-0, outshooting the WildCats 14-1 in the first half and keeping Randolph on the defensive throughout the match. The WildCats managed just two shots, with one on target, while goalkeeper efforts were tested with 9 saves, as the Hornets added three second-half goals to secure the shutout.
The 'Cats are back home for their last regular season game when they host Bridgewater at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
