LYNCHBURG, Va. - In a physical contest, Men's Soccer fell 0-2 to Washington & Lee. The WildCats battled throughout the match but were unable to break through the Generals' defensive wall.
Washington & Lee opened the scoring in the first half with a goal from Spencer Furman, who was assisted by Dmitri Tulloch to give the Generals a 1-0 advantage. Randolph pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but the Generals' defense held firm until the end of the half.
Opening the second half, the WildCats continued to search for an equalizer but the ball could not find the back of the net. However, the Generals found another goal from Tulloch in the 64th minute to secure the victory.
Washington and Lee took 10 shots, with four on target to Randolph's two shots. Corner kicks were in the Generals' favor, having 17 corner kicks on the night that aided in the two goals scored.
The 'Cats hit the road on Sunday, Oct. 6 for a conference match-up against Shenandoah at 4 p.m.
