FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.- The Randolph men's soccer team traveled down to North Carolina for a Sunday evening non-conference match with Methodist University. Both teams played stellar defense throughout the game as the contest ended in a 0-0 tie.
The Monarchs held a 10-9 advantage in total shots and a 4-2 edge in shots on goal.
Brian Kuhl (Giessen, Germany/James Monroe) led the WildCats with three shots and had one on frame. Methodist led in corners 9-2.
Carter Kelly (Carrollton, Va./Smithfield) recorded his second straight shutout of the season as he stopped four Monarch shots. Methodist goalkeeper Trey Gohr had two saves.
Randolph travels to Virginia Wesleyan next Saturday for a non-conference matchup with the Marlins. Game time from Virginia Beach will be at 2:30 p.m.
