LYNCHBURG, Va- The Randolph volleyball team hosted Trinity Washington University in its home opener on Saturday afternoon at Giles Gymnasium. The WildCats easily handled the Tigers as they won 3-0 (25-7, 25-4, 25-6).
Randolph recorded season highs as a team in service aces (19) and hitting percentage (.345).
Brooke Murdock (Evington, Va./Timberlake Christian) finished with a .714 hitting percentage on the day and led the WildCats with 11 kills. Madison Daniels (Warrenton, Va./Liberty) and Sequoyah Sorensen (Millville, UT/Western Albemarle) both had four service aces each. Sorensen added seven assists. Vivianna Gustin (Virginia Beach, Va./Bayside) led in digs with eight. Izzy Allen (Williamsburg, Va./Peninsula Catholic) totaled seven assists, three services aces, and five digs.
Randolph begins conference play on Tuesday as it hosts Averett. Match time is at 7:00 p.m.
