RALEIGH, N.C.- The Randolph women's soccer team traveled to Raleigh to face Meredith College in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon. The Avenging Angels struck early in the first half and made it hold up as they defeated the WildCats by the score of 1-0.
The winning goal by the Avenging Angels came at 8:51 of the first half. Randolph had two shots on goal in the period and four more in the second half but could not find the back of the net.
Meredith led in shots in both periods and overall 12-8. Randolph did register six shots on frame to the Avenging Angels' five.
Abby Gilbert (Virginia Beach, Va.) started in the net and had one save.
Alexis Bossi (Falls Church, Va./Justice) came in the second half and finished with two saves.
Randolph heads back to North Carolina on Wednesday when it faces North Carolina Wesleyan. Game time from Rocky Mount will be at 3:00 p.m.
