HARRISONBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's soccer team began its season on the road on Friday as they faced Eastern Mennonite in a non-conference matchup. The WildCats netted one goal on the night and that was all they needed as they defeated the Royals 1-0.

Randolph dominated in shots 12-1 in the first half with just one shot coming on goal. Joanne Torres (North Chesterfield, Va./Meadowbrook) had a look at a goal in the 34th minute but her shot glanced off the left post.

The second half was a different story as EMU led in shots 5-4. Randolph was able to capitalize on its second shot attempt as Madison Booker (Norfolk, Va./Granby) scored off an assist by Alana Ellis (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) to give Randolph a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute. Eastern Mennonite had one shot on frame which came in the 58th minute that was stopped by WildCat goalkeeper Alexis Bossi (Falls Church, Va./Justice HS).

Overall, Randolph led in shots 16-6 with a four 4-1 edge in shots on goal. The WildCats led in corner kicks 8-2.
